The new vintage 2010 of AlfYnal was rated 90 points by the Spanish gastronomy and wine guide Guia Repsol, for 2013.

Tasting comment : " Nose : intense, red fruits, creamy oak, soft spicy notes. The mouth is well-balanced, soft and tasty with matured tannins. Nice aftertaste."

In this article of the spanish review La Luna de Metropoli (El Mundo) dated october 19^th 2012, Luis Gutierrez explains how the Monastrell grape variety is reestablishing its prestige after being snubbed for several years. It is now among the best-quality and most-appreciated varieties in Spain.

Planted all along the Mediterranean cost (South of France, Catalogna and mostly Alicante and Murcia), the Monastrell is nowadays the most cultivated grape variety in Spain, just after the Tempranillo.

The wines produced from this typical variety gain elegance and sophistication with years and can reveal notes of spices, truffle or liquorice. So far, several vineyards have contributed to maintain the quality level in the growing of Monastrell, such as Iberica Bruno Prats in Alicante. Since 2009, they have been producing a 100% Monastrell old-vines wine named AlfYnal.

24/10/2012 Bronze medal for AlfYnal at the Decanter Wine Awards Asia

AlfYnal from Iberica Bruno Prats was awarded a Bronze Medal at the Decanter Asia Wine Awards, a new sister competition to the Decanter World Wine Awards, launched in 2012 to recognise wines aimed specifically at the Asian market.

The Decanter Asia Wine Awards was co-chaired by Jeannie Cho Lee MW, the first Asian Master of Wine and a Contributing Editor to Decanter, and Steven Spurrier, Chairman of the Decanter World Wine Awards and Decanter’s Consultant Editor. The judging took place in Hong Kong in September 2012.
